Lunajammer Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 (edited) Among the celebrity obits, I was surprised there's been no mention of the passing of Indy great Al Unser, Sr. December 9, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. I only found out a few days ago and can't find any mention on this forum. Regardless, he was one of my favorites. One of those classic, all-around racers. Edited January 14, 2022 by Lunajammer
1930fordpickup Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Good question Mike. First I seen this myself. He was a good driver.

slusher Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Great driver. I had no idea he died. May he Rest In Peace..
TonyK Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 There was some mentioned on a couple of other boards. The Unsers were a favorite family of racers for me and both Bobby and Al Sr. left us last year.
Oldcarfan27 Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 That was real racing back then!! Great cars! Godspeed Al.
Dave Ambrose Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 I missed this too. I liked watching him race when I was young. He was one of the good guys. Relieved that he isn't suffering now. It was a life well lived.
Keavdog Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Didn't hear about this either. Bobby just died in May of last year as well. 2021 - big loss to the racing community.
