I also like how the top doesn’t have seams that would scale out to a half an inch thick. Where did you source the wheels? 2 hours ago, Claude Thibodeau said: Hi Steve! Very nice, and faithful to the era (the green and the vinyl top). I'm curious: since the Cougar had an inch longer wheelbase than the Mustang, did you have to maodify the floor pan in any way to get the wheels centered, or did-it just fall in place? I'm planning a similar build in the future , any hiccups using the Mustang as a donor ? 2 hours ago, afx said: Great color, and very nice build. Where are the wheels from? Thanks everyone. The Cragar G/T wheels were included in some of the MPC '68-'69 Mopar kits. The Coronet Super Bee kits and possibly a couple others. I received a box of assorted parts from a friend years ago and there was enough of them to make one good set in it. I have a couple more but they're too glue bombed to use. The Cougar is on a 111 inch wheelbase and the Mustang is on a 108 inch wheelbase so I did have to stretch the chassis a bit along with the exhaust and made a new drive shaft. afx Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) Steve, did you use the donor Mustang kit's interior? Edited January 31, 2022 by afx
Can-Con Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 1 hour ago, afx said: Steve, did you use the donor Mustang kit's interior? No, it came with a copy of the cougar interior. I just cut the floor out of that and used the rest. There's a small gap on the sides and it took a bit of grinding but it went in. Had to put spacers under the front seats to raise them up a bit too.
kelson Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 That turned out really nice!!,btw i also have some of those Cragar G/T wheels,if you want to borrow and make resin copies sometime. 1
