Jonathan Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 (edited) I really like this kit and it's variations - I guess because my Dad had a 4.3 S-10 4x4 for years, and it remains my favorite pickup. (sidebar - if you have a S-10, first generation, extended cab, 4x4 in good shape ....) And yeah, I know - it's a bit of a mixed bag in terms of having it's origins in the diecast from waaaay back (has anyone ever actually seen one of these?) So far, I've built the Revell (black plastic) Syclone, the Monogram 3-n-1 "Lowrider", and the recently reissued (Revell label) "Street Sweeper". Having just finished the Street Sweeper, I got the other two out of the cabinet and thought I'd share. (I may have posted these individually before ... I apologize if that is the case.) I have several different ideas for future builds using this kit. I hope I can pull them off. I finished the Syclone in a non-standard silver/gray scheme, using the now defunct Testor's One Coat lacquers - Diamond Dust and something Silver. The white S-10 ("street sweeper") and the red/silver S-10 are both finished in Tamiya lacquers. I sourced rally wheels and tires from something by AMT for the red/silver S-10. Aside from that, they're all built out of the box. You really see your mistakes when you take pictures of your builds! Edited February 8, 2022 by Jonathan 2
espo Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Great looking build on all three of these. Nice sharp looking trim details and good paint work on all. 1
mikemodeler Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 I owned 3 1:1 S-10's , all square dimes- 82 base, no options; 88 4x4 fully loaded; 91 2wd tahoe trim. All were fun trucks and lots of memories. Nice work on those. 1
NOBLNG Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Nice work on those Jonathan!? I owned two extended cab versions, and they were nice trucks. 1

Nice work on those. Of all the trucks that have been in our family, I still think the square body S-10 is my favorite. 1 hour ago, NOBLNG said: Nice work on those Jonathan!? iamsuperdan Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 All three look great! I've seen a resin extended cab body that looked really accurate. Will see if I can find a link for you. I'm kind of the same way with the Chev OBS trucks. Have owned a number of them, have loved the body style since it was new, now I just acquire and build variants of them. I always seem to have one on the go.
