This is a 1/24 kit by Nitto Kagaku . This is your typical old style motorized kit . As such as most of you know that detail is not too good . I built one of these years ago after I had bought a real Mustang ll . Plan was to build a replica . It did not turn out well . That one is long gone . Found this on the bay and decided to take another crack at this it . Was not a plan to try to do a replica again but rather to see if I could build it into something half way nice . Better than my first one .  Wheels and tires from the parts box with the centers painted . Added the hood scoop . Changed the headlights and grill . Body was primed and painted yellow with Krylon short cuts and then the same brand clear . Thanks for looking .

Diggin' it, Ray. ?

Haven't seen many Mustang II kits built... and that's on this forum. Never seen one in person*, I don't think.

Right before I read this reply from Dave, I was starting to wonder if a Mustang II notchback was ever kitted. The hatchbacks aren't bad looking, but I think the notchback body style looks a bit better... conversely, I think Chevy Monza hatchbacks look better than their "Towne Coupe" counterpart. I guess both cars are scoffed at by a lot of people, but I appreciate them. :)

*a built kit, that is. There was a Mustang II Ghia just around the corner from me when I was a kid. It was faded red with a black vinyl top. It also had, I guess, home-made dual racing stripes along the top from the hood to the trunk. I swear the edges of each stripe was done in electrical tape with what looked like black marker to fill-in the rest. Probably wasn't actually marker... but it looked ridiculous. Despite that, I liked the design of the car itself. At that time, every second person around here had a fox body mustang, but it'd never seen a "pinto stang" before that.

I still keep an eye out for a King Cobra........I'd find room for her if I do.....

That's a pretty good looking Mustang II.  The black really compliments the yellow.  The wheels & tires looks nice.  Great job on this one.

Here are some pics of the two Mustang ll’s I had . Both bought new . 74 Mach 1 and a 78 King Cobra . I just happened to be a a Ford dealer in Orange County Calf.   when a delivery truck pulled in to make a delivery and the King Cobra was on the truck . Never saw one and bought it as it was being unloaded . They had to prep it as I recall and picked it up the next day . 302 auto . HP was down but I really liked that car . It drove very good .

Hi Ray!

Interesting experiment, and always fun to revisit a kit we gave a shot at back then.

Is-it me, or is their proportions off regarding the lenght of the roof over the front doors. The distance between the windshield pillar and B-pillar look a bit shorter than on the real car?

Just curious...
