Gramps46 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 Beautifully built models Larry. I especially like the Talbot Lago. Thanks for sharing.
Gramps46 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 Well done as always Phil. Thanks for sharing.
Rich Chernosky Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Phil...really like your version of the MK IV. I always felt the MPC version was just a little nicer kit than the IMC. You did it justice. I have both in my collection.
magicmustang Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) How about an IMC kit, Ford Gt40 1969 winner. Drivers -Jackie Oliver, Jacky Ickx. Edited March 29, 2022 by magicmustang 2
magicmustang Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) The 1978 winner, Renault A442B by Tamiya, driven by Jean-Pierre Jaussaud and Didier Pironi. Edited March 29, 2022 by magicmustang 2
magicmustang Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) Have another winner but I need help to remember what year and drivers. The 936 Martini Porsche is a 936/77, I think (1977 winner?) by Tamiya, driven by Hurley Haywood and Jacky Ickx. Edited March 30, 2022 by magicmustang 1
Gramps46 Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 Super looking models. It is rare to see the IMC Gulf Ford built up so well. The #4 Porsche 936 is indeed the 1977 LM winner.
Gramps46 Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 1967 Ford MKIV. Gurney and Foyt Le Mans Miniatures kit. Was fortunate to see this car at the Ford Museum. 3

vamach1 Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Great work as always Gramps. Here is another of those pesky IMC kits. 1
Rich Chernosky Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 !979 winner, Porsche 935 (K3). Kit is by Platz NuNu. Drivers were Don and Bill Whittington and Klaus Ludwig. Interesting because they beat all the sports prototypes. The Whittington's went on to later fame when it was discovered where their aviation company got its money. More information on this build as it was posted here: 3
Gramps46 Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 Really appreciate the link to your build. Great looking model.

Nacho Z Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 I thought I would try to add to this thread but I have to admit that I don't know my Le Mans racing like you guys. I may have missed it but are you looking for overall winners or is class winners OK? If class winners are OK then I think I can add three of my models to the thread. Please let me know. Thanks!
Gramps46 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 John, our original objective was to post our models of the overall winning cars at Le Mans. I think we will see how that goes and if we do not get an adequate response, we can open it up to class winners. Thank you for your interest.
Gramps46 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) 1963 Ferrari 250P, Scarfiotti-Bandini, Monogram This kit was based on a Monogram slot car and was a very simple curbside kit but very welcome to us Ferrari fans. PE wire wheels from Herb Deeks and Academy tires were added. Edited March 30, 2022 by Gramps46 2

I will be following along as I think this is a great topic. Generally speaking, foreign cars and foreign racecars don't get a lot of love. It is nice to see them here. 1

Super collection, Larry - the Talbotl-Lago is a special rarity - never seen a model of it ! Could it possibly be built from Heller's single-seater (with cycle fenders, lights, spare wheel and 2 seats)?

Very nice, Gerald - it was driven by Jürgen Barth and Hurley Haywood, later in the race heavily supported by fJacky Ickx after his own car DNFed.
1959scudetto Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Excellent your 1963 winning 250 P, Gary - and of course GT40 # 1075, the first double winner (1968 and 1969) - my alltime favorite sports racer (I have these 3 in my stash - albeit still unbuilt)!
1959scudetto Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Here are two more winners: 1984 Porsche 956 (Tamiya 1/24) of Pescarolo/Ludwig/Johansson (Team Joest) and finally (after Matra 1972-74) again a French win with 2 French drivers in France: 1978 Renault Alpine A 442 (Tamiya 1/24), driven by Didier Pironi/Jean-Pierre Jaussaud: Here side by side with the 2nd place Porsche 936-78: I have further winners (1963-1965-1967-1968-1969-1970-1971 and 1982) in my stash, but still unbuilt ... Gramps46 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Again Helmut outstanding models. Since you have introduced a French Renault, I will add some Matra-Simcas to the mix. 1972 Matra-Simca MS670, #15, Pescarolo-G. Hill, Le Mans Miniatures (Yes, that Graham Hill) 1973 Matra-Simca MS670B, #11, Pescarolo- Larrousse, Fisher Models 1974 Matra-Simca MS670B, #7, Pescarolo- Larrousse, Mitsuwa X 2 Just a note on the #7 MS670. Before there were 1/24 scale resin kits there was a 1/28 scale kit of the MS670. I bought 2 of them, cut them apart, and glued them back together in 1/24 scale. Oops. Just noticed ole Henri is going the wrong direction next to the Mulsanne corner sand back. Edited March 30, 2022 by Gramps46 2
1959scudetto Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Great models, Gary - unbelievable the 1974 Matra (spliced together from 2 smaller scale kits!)
