I started this kit knowing there were issues with the tilt front end and the way it's hinged.  I decided to cut the small section of the fenders off the body and attach them to the tilt front end.

That's a smart way to handle that - none of the edges of the hood meet the body nicely (or at ALL in some cases - there's some pretty big gaps as it comes) so anything you can do to improve fit there adds a lot to these kits I think

Thanks Jim.  I think this kit needs all the help it can get.

I just looked thru some of your recent builds, and if anyone can whip this kit into shape, you can.

Thanks Alex.  Looks like it's going take a lot of whipping ☺

All eyes are watching Buddy. Yer on the clock.

Anyway guys, as Bob knows, for my build on this kit I had the bright idea of cutting off the hood from the fenders to make it a non flipper. I then glued the fenders to the body and puttied the seams. Then I discovered the hood didn't fit well to I fenders, got frustrated and glued the hood on to make it a curb side.

I know you more accomplished builders can make what I wanted to do work but that ain't me??

Haha...well, my clock tends to lose a lot of time Buddy.  Like all my builds, I hope for the best and expect the worst.

I did the body work on the bed and got it together.  The bed cover fits nice so I did something right ☺  I think the body work on the fenders is finally done as well.

This is looking great! I'll be watching too.

I found one more way to deal with the poor fit of the hood and fenders when I built mine. Lol!

Well that sure is a solution Tom.  Me, I just glued the whole front onto the body and going curbside.

My story for the build was that this guy drag raced his years back and then updated to a newer ride. Shortly after, his buddy ran his Willys down the wall in a drag race, tearing up the front sheet metal. Being the good friend he was he gave his buddy the nose from his old ride. Years later, and a few more pulled parts, here it sits, neglected.

Ok....I got my 55 Chevy Pro Street finished so I'm now working on only two models.  I got the engine parts cleaned up and painted.  I cut the plugs off the heads and got the holes drilled for the boots and plug wires.  The tilt front end is finished and ready for paint.  Still need to clean up the body.

Looking good Bob.

Thanks James.  I've been a little stalled out on this build.

I would say. 110% 0n the frontend, man.

Thanks Kenneth.  I could not get the frame back together exactly straight so there is no telling how the front end is going to fit.
