Mopar - D Posted May 11, 2022 Author Posted May 11, 2022 More progress on the rear of the trailer and my first mock up with the cab. 1
Oldcarfan27 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Doing great. Looks excellent so far! What a great idea for a trailer. AMT missed an opportunity for doing this.

Dutzie Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Nice work. Looking forward to seeing the completed build.

Mopar - D Posted May 12, 2022 Author Posted May 12, 2022 Still adding more details on the rear finished the rear fenders and tail light frame. More progress on the way lol.
Mopar - D Posted May 13, 2022 Author Posted May 13, 2022 More progress on rear end it just needs mud flaps. Added the front fenders. Next will be the bottom dump assembly. Here’s today’s progress pictures.
gotnitro? Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Nice progress ! Watching all the smaller details fill up the negative space is always enjoyable for me. Brings the model from a shell to a complete trailer.
Mopar - D Posted May 14, 2022 Author Posted May 14, 2022 Thanks Jeff and your exactly right and with this one being my first completely design and build trailer it’s been a very fun build so far.
Mopar - D Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 I’ve been tackling the hardest part of this build and it’s the operating bottom gates. I’ve been able too get both gates to open and close at the same time. I still have some clean up to do and I’m going to add the air pneumatic cylinders on both ends for operating the gates. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated. 2

Mopar - D Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 More details on the bottom assembly with the pneumatic cylinders. I’m getting closer to being ready for some paint. 1
Bills72sj Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Moving parts add so much complexity. Most impressive.
gotnitro? Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Awesome work on the clamshell doors. Making them work too..hats off to you Have you been able to photograph the ones working in your area for more detail photos

I should do that so far I’ve just been looking at them as I’m driving by. I did see a Load King trailer just like the one I’ve been working from for reference.
Mopar - D Posted May 18, 2022 Author Posted May 18, 2022 Today I worked on the landing legs and little more work on the fenders also cut out the side boards on top. I’ve painted some cheese cloth to use as removable cover over the load area. I’m thinking I might have a way to make it open and close to. That’s tomorrow’s project lol.

But it looks like you've got it handled anyway.

The trick is to figure out where to connect the rod to make both half’s to open up the same. Mine are close lol. 28 minutes ago, DrKerry said: Looks awesome Dan!!! Great work.. Thanks Kerry. 1
