BobbyG Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Been working on this old resin Dodge that I've had for over 20 years and was going to dump it until a friend told me I was crazy, so I decided to give it a new life and create a detailed and unique truck. The body has been thinned and cleaned up, the chassis from the AMT 53 Ford PU, pu bed is from the Dodge Little Red Truck, Hemi engine from the 57 Chrysler 300 (may as well do it right), parts box stuff and a lot of scratch building and mods. I'm going overboard with details but hey, it's saving an old Dodge that you don't see in scale. Color will be a Chrysler pale blue , black steelies and possible front axle. The headliner and door panels are scratch made. Using Detail Masters wood bed panels. This resin came with P/E badging that were made by MCG. I scratch built the front grille to represent a 59 version and dual headlights are the custom parts from the 53 Ford. 6

Just a few adjustments, final details, and a little body work then onto the spray booth for Chrysler Pale Blue paint from MCW. I decided on using Moebius Duallies, just released by Pegasus as a wheel / tire pack and think it looks great and fitting. Tge upholstery is from Scale Motorsports and gives a 50's look. The exhaust system is scratch built with mufflers from tge parts box. I used Detail Master's P/E exhaust clamps. Brakes complete the chassis. The 57 Chrysler Hemi sits at home in the engine compartment. Can't wait to finish this one. 4

Mike C. Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 It's finally time for me to get in on this first gen Bronco craze. Going over some tire/wheel options. Looks like I'll be needing one of those lift kits for Olsen bros. Or Fireball. The cool thing about these models is that there are so many aftermarket goodies available for them. 2

BobbyG Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 First color coat, Chrysler Pale Blue. I'm debating if I should clear coat it, it has a nice shine but hey, it's old truck. 4
Slotto Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 It's a Mini-Van I know, but I bet I can make it cool 3
ChopSauce Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Interesting. I sure wonder where is it going?
JollySipper Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Hey, Guys! I'm sorry, I haven't been following this thread, but I thought you all would like to see what zaina's 3D printed Dodge pickup looked like..... I owned a '71 sweptline short wide bed pickup for a while, and the proportions are pretty spot-on! I didn't get the frame or engine, since I wanted this to be 2WD....... I'll be using the Foose FD100 chassis as soon as I figure out how to flatten the rear frame rails...... 4
Mike C. Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 This van shares the same basic body as the Revell mean mudder. Just a thought.
Slotto Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I picked up the 72 Chevy Coke truck from Ollie's last night. I plan on using these resin wheels 2
PatW Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Revell Trabant 601 saloon now a pick-up truck nearing completion. 1
dino246gt Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) I started building this as a pro-street "Blazer", from a pickup kit, over 30 years ago! Dug it out and refined some old bodywork. Not sure what I'll do with it as pro-street is no longer "cool". Can't make it modern with those gigantic tubs, the rolled pans, ZR-1 tail lights, all outdated. I MIGHT just build it though as it would've been when it would've been cool. Edited October 26, 2023 by dino246gt 4

Deserves to be finished!
OldNYJim Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Just barely enough parts to constitute a mock-up…playing with a ‘remix’ of the Monogram Black Widow this evening… 3

Olskoolrodder Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 My entry for the USACC GB on Youtube for 2023, literally just getting started on it, LOL (probably not going to use that engine, it's 1:25, and the kit is 1:24, it looks a bit small in there unfortunately) 2
Bullybeef Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Not a truck per se, going for a small shop truck instead of a gasser. 2
