leafsprings Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) CME has just taken delivery of a brand new 1970 Freightliner, # 2143. Fleet specs: WF 6342 250 Cummins, Fuller 10 spd, Rockwell R 170 rear, Farr frontal air system Edited May 30, 2022 by leafsprings 1
Oldcarfan27 Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Very simple, tough, no nonsense work machine. Effective fleet hauler. Looks just like they did back then. No dazzle, just business.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 I like everything about this build! Excellent work all the way around!
JerseeJerry55 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Very nicely done. If possible could you post some pics of the cab tilted so I can see the exhaust tubing set up from the exhaust manifold to the bottom of the stack. I’m planning on doing a SD with a single stack similar to yours.
leafsprings Posted June 26, 2022 Author Posted June 26, 2022 (edited) Thanks all for the positive comments! A few simple modifications back dates the WF kit a couple of years. For single exhaust, I cut the kits crossover pipe and added a short 90 degree angle with a little putty work tapered up to the smaller exhaust manifold flange. I don't have the best camera, hope this helps. Edited July 24, 2022 by leafsprings
leafsprings Posted July 8, 2022 Author Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) Thanks! I'm a big fan of old school fleet trucks. Would have liked to include a resin 70's looking Teamster driver, maybe short hair with long sideburns? Edited July 10, 2022 by leafsprings
leafsprings Posted May 4, 2024 Author Posted May 4, 2024 Finally found a good color photo of the real deal, thought I'd share. Would be nice if the older lower cab with single headlights was offered in resin.
trick my mixer Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 You got this bad boy dialed in for sure. Awesome looking fleet truck. Nice build. 1
RoninUtah Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Great build; I agree about the fleet truck comments! Nicely detailed and authentic looking. Bravo! 1
