Ace-Garageguy Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Appropriation of the cultural kind has been charged recently about folks getting a suntan.
BeakDoc Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Suntan oil, a Slip ‘n Slide and one too many beers will get you a billion YouTube likes.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 (edited) Likes on YT be hanged; posting links to verifiable scientific research papers will get you banned forever, if they disagree with the infinitely rebleated dogma du jour. Edited July 30, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
BeakDoc Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) Du jour, rendezvous, déjà vu and restaurant are but a few of the beaucoup French words and phrases that have been absorbed into the American lexicon. Edited July 30, 2022 by BeakDoc

ChrisBcritter Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Analysts agree that Miles Nervine® helps get you off of their couches and back onto yours. 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) Yours is not to reason why, but to shut up and do what you're told by a class of people who can't drive a nail into a board without putting themselves in the hospital, and destroying the nail, the board, and the hammer (and it takes a very special kind of stupid to break a hammer). misterNNL Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Hammer some good old fashioned common sense into more people and our world will become a better place. 1 2

Ace-Garageguy Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) Best to not wear a necktie or long braids when setting the ignition timing on an old 911 Porsche. Edited July 30, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy 1
NOBLNG Posted July 30, 2022 Author Posted July 30, 2022 “Porsche is all painted” said the blonde as she handed the homeowner back the half-finished bucket of latex….”and by the way she said, “it’s pronounced POR-SHA, not porch”. 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 "Car art" can refer to art depicting automobiles, or in some cases, automobiles or parts thereof themselves.
misterNNL Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Themselves, yourselves, ourselves, we should keep building models to fill those shelves. 1
1972coronet Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Shelves are a great place to store sardonic musings
misterNNL Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Epiphanies are those "light bulb" moments when you finally figure out there is in fact an answer to that problem you thought was unsolvable.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) Unsolvable is what on some days I begin to think the world's ills are, as there just don't seem to be enough highly intelligent, rational folks left to keep things going much longer; ala Idiocracy, stupid is the new smart, and if you pay attention, you'll see it everywhere. Ace-Garageguy Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Overload of the electrical grid, manifesting in brownouts and blackouts, will be the inevitable result of failing to build enough new peak-load generating capability (which renewable sources aren't good at) to keep up with increasing demand from charging electric cars.
misterNNL Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Cars of the EV type are still in their infancy so we have a whole lot of learning to do about what it will actually take to make them really sustainable.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 (edited) "Imagination" and "sustainable" can mean many different things; considering the USA has between 200 to almost 500 years worth of recoverable coal reserves, and the technology exists to remove everything harmful from a coal-burning powerplant's exhaust and REUSE it in a carbon-neutral cycle, it's beyond idiotic to be rushing headlong into a forced reliance on solar and wind power generation. 1972coronet Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Generation X is what I'm classified as -- it's also the name of Billy Idol's band in the seventies.
JollySipper Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Seventies cars were very lacking in the performance department......
