Tim W. SoCal Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 times have been hard and then other times have been kinda easy, but one thing that has always rang true in my life's experience regarding building my own drag race car and other hot rods, when I had the money I didn't have the time and when I had the time I didn't have the money 1
Little Timmy Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Money was something I didn't understand when I was 5 years old, so I got some Green paper and drew my own 5 dollar bills. ( couldn't get any of the stores to accept them though .... guess I forgot to print " legal tender for all debts public and private" ... ) 3
slusher Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) Bills never stop coming as nothing is free.. Edited October 15, 2024 by slusher Typo
1972coronet Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Bird Song by the Grateful Dead - esp. in this live footage from August 1972 - is one of their finest
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Finest whiskeys come from Kentucky, Ireland, and Scotland, but there a few great ones from Japan too. 1
A modeler named mike Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Too much flatulence in an elevator can leave you with a bad taste. ? 2
Tim W. SoCal Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 "taste in only in his mouth!" is what my cohort exclaimed as he scrutinized the ridiculously ugly and poorly executed custom car 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 "Car" is used by a lot of folks referring to anything with 4 wheels (more or less), and it drives me nuts. 1
1972coronet Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 "Nuts ! Enn-vee-tee-es !" , proclaimed Mel Brooks's character in the Roman vignette of History of the World Part 1 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 "1" used to be widely touted by a certain car company as the job-number assigned to "quality". 1
slusher Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 quality was my job in a lab checking products..
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Products that used to be made in the good ol' USA are now mostly made elsewhere.
NOBLNG Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Elsewhere is where the wife wants to be this winter.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Winter just isn't winter without snow. 1
Rodent Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Snow interferes with my preference for shorts and flip-flops all year, so I live in California. (Careful with what y'all post, don't get political...) 2
atomicholiday Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 California girls is what I wish they all could be. 1
1972coronet Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Be California girls them all - maybe only in appearance , certainly not in personality 3
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 (edited) "Personality" used to be what folks said the 400 pound zitty horse-faced girl with the pig-nose and webbed fingers had to compensate for her lack of looks, but today we're not s'posed to judge appearance. JollySipper Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Appearance packages were a way to try and sell what were once muscle cars that had had all the 'muscle' regulated out of them....... 1 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Words can never hurt me, but sticks and stones can cause grievous bodily harm.
