Pronunciations of words can be different in various areas of our country (USA), for example, I knew a guy from the Northeast who said "draw rings" for drawings, "earl" for oil and "boid" for bird, as well as a Southern friend who said "ole" for oil and "tars" for tires.

"Tires" pronounced "tars" reminds me of "mirrow" for mirror, and "draws" for drawers.
