Rockford Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 This is as finished as it's gonna get. I did intend a set of Winslow stripes but they didn't come off so another plain Jane tractor. Lot of alterations and scratch building has gone into this, it started out as the Monogram 1/32 Snaptite kit. I wanted it to look like the AMT 352 Pacemaker truck and I'm fairly happy that I've achieved that look. If you want to see the work that went in to getting this far, please look in the On The Workbench section, I won't bore you with the list. 4
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Great looking Peterbilt! You are a master at this scale for sure! Excellent work!!
Rockford Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Sorry I haven't replied to your kind comments gents but I've been a bit distracted the last few weeks. You're all very kind. I tried another set of Winslow stripes but they failed again so I added a company decal I drew up on Microsoft Word. That's it with this truck, every time I strip it to try applying the stripes I cause damage so I'm definitely calling it done now. 1
Mopar - D Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Another excellent build Steve. As always I enjoyed following your build. Looks like you may need to build another flat bed trailer to go with your fleet of trucks lol.
Rockford Posted September 10, 2022 Author Posted September 10, 2022 This time it really is done! Well, I don't know why or how but another set of Winslow stripes from the same piece of decal paper as the other two sets went on almost perfectly this time. I know I'd given up but I was so gutted over my 352 not having stripes I just tried again. It worked brilliantly. They're not perfect, but they're good enough for me. So here's Ozark Trucking's Peterbilt 352 Pacemaker with Winslow stripes. I'm so happy with the results. He's on a run from Tucson to Tucumcari, then Tehachapi to Tonopah (great song that...). I've put it next to a pretty box stock 352 of the same kit. Some of the differences are obvious, others not so. It's been a very satisfying project with a very pleasant result. 2
Rockford Posted September 10, 2022 Author Posted September 10, 2022 This is the look I was trying to achieve and I'm quite satisfied that I did. Just found the picture where I mocked up my first draft that I cut out of paper. Can't you tell I'm chuffed!? 2
