After 3 purple pond trips I consider this done. I know there is a chrome trim line the runs along the top sides but my hand and eye site are not what they use to be. So I left it. I went with the mono color scheme. A few things about this kit. The tire opening is larger than the wheel backs and hub caps. I should have sanded the ridge on the back of the hubcap off. The stance of the wheels in the wheel wells look like the wheels are too far back. And the hump behind the back sit sits too high making the top cover look like it's floating. Other than that I liked it.

Great looking paint finishes. The color you used looks very much like a shade that they offered at that time. I worked for a guy at that time that had a new 88 Olds 4 door hardtop this same color and interior matched. Thought it look nice and never saw it dirty. Proper looking color on the engine.

Thank you David. It is a color from that era. I special ordered it from the auto store.  The other Cutlass I actually ordered it for.

Looks great. They offered some really nice colors for the high-end cars from GM. The guy I worked for had a '65 Olds 88 something special with the 455 engine.

My grandmother had a 1966 Delta 88 in this color. That's why I ordered it. It was a really nice looking car. Now everything is black, white or gray. Except for Chevy. They are putting some bright color schemes out there.

Ya, I know what you mean. I have a Dodge Charger with a black interior, like crawling a dark hole whenever I get in,

That's a great looking ride David. The color is indeed spot on. These old kits have their little quirks but they build beautiful as you model demonstrates. Good info you gave there as I plane to build the hard top so I'll look out for what you mentioned. Great Job. Nice background BTW

Great work on both Cutlass models David. That is a very attractive green I wish were available in a similar hobby or auto lacquer in a can since I don't have an airbrush.

I considered getting the coupe version of the '64 but I didn't since I was concerned about getting the bodyside molding done correctly. Now that I see yours I think it looks fine not detailed.

Thank you Mario and Tom. I looked that color up and ordered it from Reilly’s auto parts. But it doesn’t say what type of paint it is.

Yes Mario. I wanted something to photograph the builds in the colder months. It’s not accurate in scale but fun none the less. Made out of Foam Core. ?

Tom. At 67 I’m not going to stress myself out over something that will drive me crazy. It’s suppose to be fun though right?

I special ordered the paintfrom the auto parts store. It comes in a can. It was $25 and would have done more than 2 cars if I didn't repaint this one 4 times. LOL.

Looks great to me David !  And I don't blame you for leaving that trim alone , I can't see anything that small either !
