It looks like the 57 Bel Air is not the California Wheels version being discussed here but the photo is not the best.

Also on the box of the new Corvette C8 it says 1:25 but everywhere else 1:24.

Well unless they tool up a new body for it the only 57 Bel Air they possess is the one being discussed here. Given they are using a picture of a real car, the '71 Olds 442 was advertised with a 1:1 1970 442, and the one they stole for the C8 still has the guys internet watermark on it I wouldn't necessarily trust that anything they present in early demonstration photos are an accurate representation of the model in the box.

I don't think I saw it in their 2023 catalog, but they have the '68 Firebird displayed as a new release, as well.

I like the Revell '76, even though it's inaccurate. My older Hot Rod version had a lot less flash than the newer release I have, hopefully they do something about that. I don't remember any problems with the front axle, mine's still supporting the truck. It does have those two piece tires though, but it has a bench seat.20230202_184707.thumb.jpg.9db44e284d28944ab2995ba550076fa9.jpg20230202_190041.jpg.14e0b795ec83fcf2715ce6162fcd3f74.jpg

I've never built this kit, and am looking forward to having some post-apocalyptic fun with it. Hopefully they'll update the two-piece tires like they did with their recent 76 Chevy van reissue, featuring gorgeous "Firestone Firehawk" tampo printing.

Also, are those side view mirrors molded-in?

I noticed this picture, which appears to imply a new tool Jeep CJ-5 (see lower rigtht corner).  I suspect that I missed the details on this one...can one of you fill me in, including the scale?   Or is this just another reissue of the old c.1977 tool?  Thanks...TIM

Note that it says CJ-7.  Just a reissue of the Monogram CJ-7, I’d assume.  And the photo of a 1:1 they used is straight from the Wikipedia article on the CJ-7.

The side mirrors are separate pieces, so is the front roll pan. No stock bumpers included. Funny thing, it's very similar and at the same time very different from the wrecker truck. Like they copied it and made modifications or there might be a separate insert for it. 20230204_145158.jpg.b59482262917629f22447b849c35e3e5.jpg

Wow, and thank you, @Tabbysdaddy! I never built the wrecker or any of it's variants either. Thanks to you, now I WANT THEM ALL!

I am wondering what pickup they are issuing. They have a photo of a 1:1 stock Chevy fleetside 4x4, which the old Revell kit definitely isn’t.  There is the Chevy 4x4 stepside which was reissued a few years ago and the GMC fleetside 4X4 (both Monogram 1/24th).  Could make a Chevy fleetside easily enough with a grille swap…

Nice to see the '69 Judge is being reissued. Last time I had one was back in 1989 or so -- hopefully the custom wheels from the "1968" street machine version are included in this edition.
(one of the Judge's most interesting features is the brake drum 'detail' on all four wheels).

The stepside is the most recently reissued after the two fleetside versions. Has it really been a few years? It seems like not too long ago I got mine from Hobby Lobby. 20221201_193637.thumb.jpg.14cbc6291aac9f919447654a517b256c.jpg

The photo that is on the website shows a STOCK '57 Bel-Air hardtop, and the only hardtop that Revell currently has molds for is the snap version, but the stock version hasn't been released for quite awhile, the version that is currently in the catalog is the snap HOT ROD/CUSTOM version, that is probably why they are saying it's a new release is that particular kit hasn't been in the catalog for quite awhile and definitely not since the new ownership.

I admit I am probably wrong, but all of the clues point toward the snap version, I just don't see Revell tooling up a new two door hardtop since they sold off the one they had to Atlantis and their own photos show a stock Hardtop version and not a sedan.

SnapTite kits aren't Skill Level 4, which is what the "new" kit is advertised as...

Also Revell is using this as the '76 Chevy pickup, which it's obviously not at ALL

Why do you say it's not a 76? It looks like one from my research..

No I'm saying the kit which is the flareside "Street Custom" pickup which the box art was shown in the previous page of this thread has been around in that format since at least the 80s - the kit goes back into the 70s - is most certainly not the factory stock longbed that is shown in their "ShutterStock" stock photo they decided to use.  Also when the kit came out it was branded a 1978, it's magicly lost two years over the course of time and became a 1976.

This Monogram-origin kit is a '76, though.  Maybe what is coming is just a re-release of this kit (and the photo of fleet side is obviously wrong).  Do we really know *what* kit the upcoming release actually *is*?    I don't see anything listed about scale (the Monogram-origin one is 1/24th).

"1976 Chevy Street Pickup" is the terminology used on the boxings of the Revell Stepside. Also, that Monogram kit was just released last year, how are you going to reissue it again when it's already in the catalog. 🤣  That section of kits were specifically North American market items, not reboxes in RevellAG packaging.

Ok, so ....and that 'Street pickup' is a definitely a '77-78, since it has the 3 row of rectangles grille, rather than the '76 which had 4 rows of rectangles.

So Revell didn’t have box art ready, so they lazily used a stock image of a truck that looks nothing like the actual model.  Revell being Revell…

The main problem with this kit is the suspension and chassis is just wrong. But at least the general shape of the body is there.

Not to mention the awful windscreen-to-backlight runners which impede the upper leading edge of the windscreen and, to a lesser extent, the backlight.  NOT mutually exclusive to this kit, every Revell kit from this era has this issue.
