April '09 I've seen on some sites. The '70 Challenger R/T and '68 Mustang GT are out today, apparently. I ordered both from my favorite vendor.

They've been saying this thing has been coming for almost a year now..........bad when it takes longer to get a plastic car to market than it does a real car.

Revell didn't have a test shot of the Challenger in October at the hobby show. I doubt they'll have it ready for sale by April. It was supposed to be available late August 2008.

Whenever they do get it out, I want at least one. I just have to decide weather I will paint it orange or black.

Now that the Mustang has been changed, the Challenger is my favorite production car.

My new LHS supplier called me this morning to let me know the new Challenger R/T arrived Thursday evening. I took all 6 kits he got, sight unseen. I did ask him about the new Challenger and he said his supplier was informed the relase probably won't be until mid summer the way it looks right now. No reasons given, just that the release was pushed back. I'm hoping Revell decided to hold off on the release to make sure the kit was an accurate representation of the 1:1 car. Maybe they learned from the mistake they made with the KR Mustang kit by releasing a kit based on the prototype, not the production model. If it's an accurate rendition of the 1:1 car, I'll be buying a ton of those kits for my collection as well. I will make the trip to my shop tomorrow to pick up my new Challenger kits though. I'm looking forward to that kit!

Revell brought the kit to Milwaukee for the NNL.

There was not enough room to lay everything out but I did take a close look at everything. Revell has done another fine job with a current Mopar produce. The chassis and engine are very much like the one in the Magnum and the build up looked really good. The kit has been given final approval and are being produced now. They are hoping to have them in 6-8 more weeks.

Mike's Scale Speed Shop also is working on a decal sheet for this car. He plans to have both SRT and RT graphics and is looking to do it as a combo with some '70 Challenger stuff. If you have seen the Charger Super Bee, RT, Daytona, 300 sheet they released last fall this is great news. Chrome decals for emblems is something to see.

THANK YOU! for the photo. This is the first in-public proof that it's really coming that I've seen, and surprising nobody else took photos or even mentioned this kit was at the Milwaukee NNL. So the NNL East took all the thunder that weekend, or are people that apathetic? ;)
