It was not at the beginning of the 1970 model year but was introduced for Barracuda and Gran Coupe in January 1970 (mid 1970 model year) and stayed available for those at least through the 1971 model year. The J54 sport hood was NOT available for 1970 Challengers, unless they were R/Ts or A66 (340 4bbl) cars, on which it was standard. It got available for Challengers in 1971, though. But in any case, a J54 sport hood e-body which is not a Cuda or Challenger R/T is a very rare car.

slusher Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Did some of the clear get taken off with the polishing? You can use future..
Mopar - D Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 Carl I’ve been having problems painting here with the humidity and i end up with having to do a lot of sanding to get a smooth finish and I end up burning through the paint. The weather has dried up for me and I’ve been able to get my paint and clear coats to stay smooth for me. Here’s my clear coat it just needs a little buffing and then finish it. I can’t believe that I started this one back in 2022. 3
Moparman18064 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 That paint looks so much better Dan. I really like your grille. The black recessed areas around the headlights make it look so much like the real thing.
Mopar - D Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 Thanks Rich the black around the head lights was one of the small details that noticed when I was checking the pictures of the real ones.
Mopar - D Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Started the BMF and still have the wheel wells to do. 2
slusher Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Looks nice and glossy, Dan! Edited January 4 by slusher
Mopar - D Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Thanks Carl, I’ve finished the BMF and did some test fitting and set the wheels to see how it’s going to look. 1

Mopar - D Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 Thanks Jeff, this one completes my load of ‘71s for my upcoming 8 car transporter.
mustang1989 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 That paint looks GREAT Dan. Sorry to be so late about getting in here but you've got me on board for SURE now.
