Bennyg Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 This kit might even come with photo etch. In the video, the model is on a turntable, and the rear grill looks very accurate, and too thin to be plastic. I’m looking forward to getting one. Another photo. Ben
keyser Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Yet again supercars don’t need to be behemoths. Put this, F1, or 720 near any other and whatever else looks like a milk truck. Hopefully they’ll grace us with Lauda. 1
absmiami Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Not that T needs my hype … but i can’t wait … 2

That's a heck of a nice feature given how complex that shape is.
absmiami Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 mission impossible lets figure out how to build one with opening doors !!!! ... ....
jaymcminn Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Looks like the design and parts breakdown will be pretty similar to the Senna. I'm fine without opening doors... even with Tamiya's engineering know-how they're often fiddly and annoying. Including PE grilles is a nice touch.
Matt Bacon Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) The doors aren’t the show-off feature anyway… it’s the rear clams that at open to reveal a decent volume of luggage space, which must be a first for a 2020s high end supercar! best, M. Edited February 2, 2023 by Matt Bacon 1
jaymcminn Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Looking at the built prototype, I'm thinking how much better this will look with black Sharpie run around the edges of all that glass before installation to hide those edges. Which means I'm already pre-planning my build. Time to start thinking about colors... 2
Matt Bacon Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I’m guessing that for the best part of $3m. you can have pretty much any colour you want… though I’d probably start with the F1 palette for old times’ sake. Silver is a bit boring, though, and although the black one looks wicked, I always think it hides the shape and details a bit, especially in scale in a display cabinet… best, M.
Alegitbot Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 here is the unpainted model being shown at tamiyas flagship store, suprised they molded the body in high sheen silver, very good use of photoetch on the rear 2

I know it’s receiving mixed reactions due to being an unusual subject (not a porsche, or Ferrari) but I think it’s great. I will be getting one for sure simply because it looks like it will go together well and I generally like cars. Ben
Alegitbot Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 tamiya cars must sell poorly overall if they are dropping the skill to entry by molding it in silver plastic, these models aint cheap in canada afterall... Dont like how they made the windows the same as the mclaren sennas, wish they just gave us window masks, the end result where the window should be glossy black isnt nice looking or refects the real car.
Michael jones Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Thanks Tamiya, my bank account will have time to recover with this release.... This is helped by the NUNU delays as well.

The most challenging plastic car kit I’ve ever built — the Fujimi Enthusiast Ferrari GTO — had a body moulded in red like the real thing. Go figure… best, M. Edited February 3, 2023 by Matt Bacon 3
niteowl7710 Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) Almost every single Tamiya Ferrari kit made, including those entry level FXX-Ks and Enzos were all molded in red, unless you got the Banana Yellow Special Edition kits. The DBS is molded in color, and the LFA probably would have been too if the most common color that car came in wasn't white. Edited February 3, 2023 by niteowl7710

To say nothing of the confounded metallic blue that they molded the otherwise superb Alpine A110's in!
iamsuperdan Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Even with no paint, that looks really good. I'm just glad it wasn't molded in red or yellow. 1
Tyas Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I am not a fan of Gordon Murray (more of a Steve Nichols kind of guy) but not gonna lie I want that GMA T.50 kit. Will probably do one in Genesis Blue to replicate the spec on the F1JOY-registered McLaren F1 and P1JOY-registered McLaren P1. Which means dark blue overall interior with red driver seat.

Well, T50JOY is a perfectly legal registration… and it’s currently on a red Ford Focus with a 1 litre ecoboost engine. Best, M.
absmiami Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 https://apple.news/ApzK9aumET_WsWkkvmJEGLw note to builders - no two T50s will leave the factory with the same color - thats pretty cool … of course that also means that Tamiya should have produced the kit in gray plastic …. Grrr …
Matt Bacon Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Oh, I don't know... I quite like the idea of 100 new TS colours matching every one. You've got to bet that pretty much every colour that was ever on an F1 will also be on a T.50, and real Murray fanbois might replicate a few Brabham liveries as well... best, M.
absmiami Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Hello mr bacon - how about that light blue on the first Brabham Climax … and lets add a gold stripe …
