I have been working on a small snow diorama for the Oscarsson's truck and trailer I weathered a while ago for a client. I wanted to show-off the truck and trailer combo in its environment to further make it more convincing., Although, the client did not request a diorama, I thought I'd show him how it would look in its environment, when I meet him next week to deliver the models. Who knows, he might just buy it.  Regardless, I still have to add tyre tracks in the snow and add snow on the dock roof. Hope you all like it.

Charles . . . I would imagine that the snow effect is quite difficult to achieve properly, and clearly you have got it just right. Both the vehicle and trailer, and the diorama setting create a strong feeling of cold and frosty conditions on the ground. Your client will be impressed with the truck model I am sure, and as you say, he may well be interested in purchasing the diorama also . . . It is always a pleasure to view your work, so thank you for yet another project !

The road dirt on the front of the truck is very convincing and realistic. These 1:50 scale models are smaller than the 1:43 scale I am currently working in, but then the truck is a large vehicle anyway, I guess.

Thank you kindly David. Your descriptive means a lot. Thanks again for your warm and kind words. 1:43 is bigger, but like you mentioned, being a truck it gives the illusion it is slightly bigger. :)

Love how so much of the snow weathering on the truck is an incredibly realistic grayish mix.

Thank you. I always try and portray reality as close as possible. I appreciate your comment very much.

Very convincing indeed, I had to go get my jacket just to look at these pictures. Your presentation of snow and road grime are outstanding, especially in a 1:50 scale model.  I do have one question: what do the two human figures over the truck's visor represent?

They are Michelin's rubber insignia or maskots. ;)

Excellent setting for this truck, Charles - I would have been surprised if the customer had not bought the diorama for the truck/trailer combo.

Yeah. Me too. Glad he fell for it. :)
