I could see that as being a blast!

My 60hp (on its best day ever) Super Beetle is one of the most fun-to-drive cars I've ever owned. 

It doesn't do anything exceptionally well, some things it doesn't do well at all, but it still gets more smiles-per-mile than anything else I've owned.

It's easy to forget, but a lot of horsepower and driving pleasure are rarely directly linked. A zippy VW, a well performing Volvo, the right road(traffic, width, curvature) can be super fun but a straight road with cameras can be boring in a Porsche, I know.
Balance and harmony are more important than power on public roads.

You don't even need horsepower all the time for driving pleasure...

My '84 245 GL was, hands down, my favourite car to drive. It was a sad day when it finally succembed to the salt monster.

My wife's TDI Beetle is the most fun car I've ever owned. Get that thing on a twisty mountain road and lean into the turbo and hang on.

Small, lightweight sports cars are wonderful. You have access to all of the fun factor at perfectly legal speeds. The low-horsepower Caterhams probably give you a driving experience much more like an original Lotus 7.

I wish I still had my 71 S-Bug. Agree it was a very fun car to toss around.
