Hi Kit. thanks for looking in and providing your comments. I have been watching your 29 Ford GSL build. Absolutely awesome!  Hope to see it in person at Salt Lake.

Another 48 coupe converted to a pickup.

Revell 50 Ford pickup body stretched a few inches until the big back window from the Foose fd100 fit. Foose fd100 frame and Roush motor will be used. Probably doing steel wheels with Ford dog dish hubcaps.  Probably will be House of Colors tangerine.

I would be honored to see some of you follow along.

I love a ranchero custom build. I've never thought of going that far back to make into a ranchero. Love it

Thanks for the feedback. Several of these kinds of conversions were featured in Scale Auto in the 80's and 90's. Tim Boyd did a few and I think Tom Woodruff did a 48 Ford convertible.

Looking so cool Ron.

Thanks Ray. Glad you like it. Took a look at your Porsche.  Nicely done.  Sorry it got all the way down to 60 in Arizona. 60 would be a heat wave in Nebraska this time of year.

WOW, great job Ron!

Everything you've done so far is contest quality and you can be proud, few dare to go into that kind of detail but you'll appreciate all your hard work in the end I'm sure. ?

Hey Frances. Thanks for checking in. I always appreciate your comments and insight. I plan on taking it to a few contests when it is complete.

I'm still stunned by how cool that rack and pinion looks, fantastic scratch building!

Hi Dennis. Thanks for the feedback on the rack.  I wasn't sure if it was good enough so I appreciate the positive feedback from you.

Figured out my headlights.  Created frenched headlights by hogging out the front side of the headlight holes with the Dremel bit shown and placing headlights from an Ertl 40 Ford behind the hole.

I wish when I "Threw together" something it looked that good. Nice work on all of this!

Hi Mark. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes you get lucky and an idea works out OK on the first swing.

The way I made this was to sketch out the idea on .2 plastic, add straight guide pieces of .2 plastic around the perimeter and the inside angle piece of one half of the sketch, drilled holes at each corner. I took that template and placed it on the .2 plastic sheet that would become the outer skin. I drilled out all the holes on one side of the outer skin piece, flipped the template over and drilled out the other side so the 2 sides would match, and "connected the dots" with a straight edge and #11 blade. A little filing and sanding and I glued it to a second .2 plastic sheet to create the indentions.

Nice touch on the headlight Ron, very nice improvement!

I have always found the headlights on many models to have a toy-like (or fake) effect and what you have done will lend a lot of credibility to the final product. ?

Thanks for the input Frances.  If they look right to some one like you with a great ability to build realistic components then I have the look I want to achieve.
