Not much of an airplane builder and this model proves that !  Although the kit was pretty good in my opinion it gave me some problems with the decals . I think the decals themselves were fine but they reacted in some areas that I can only guess it was the Solvaset setting solution ??? Plane was primed, painted with Tamiya Gloss Aluminum , Tamiya Clear , then decals applied . Finally I added a coat of Future . Except for the decals I am pretty happy with it .

Well Ray, that is a very good looking build.  I always enjoyed building airplanes but now with so many cars in the stash I just gotta keep doing the cars.....but I am tempted now after seeing more airplanes on the forum.

Great job?

Looks excellent. Those Monogram aircraft kit decals can be hit and miss at the best of times so you succeeded well actually.

This ^^^^^

You got great results! I've them get eaten by decal solutions, so yours are great.

Even with the issues with the decals you faced it is still a really sharp looking build.  Will be looking forward to seeing your P-51.

I can certainly see where the decals would give some problems. They are very large in area and therefore tough to work with as far as settling but you pulled this build off well with them. Outstanding finish on a great subject Ray.

Thank you Tony and Joe. I would like to build planes but they do take up a bit of space . Don't know where I will put the 1/32 P 51 Mustang when I build that.

Lack of display space is why I am sort of backing off from aircraft. The last 3 I did were all folded wing Naval aircraft since they take up far less room on a shelf. They were all pretty large planes that I simply would not be able to display with wings out.
