Chuck Most Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Well, my recent Morris Mini trilogy ends. ? This is the old Scale Kraft resin transkit combined with the Tamiya Morris Mini Cooper racing car. I cut out the pickup grille opening and splash apron and grafted in the Tamiya part to use the passenger car grille. The front flares are modified to clear a factory bumper. Paint is Testors Star Spangled Blue. The Beatles front plate was home printed and out back is a 1963 Michigan plate from Three Inches Under. My panel washes need a little cleanup and some foil work needs touch up (again... Gotta love digital photos and natural sunlight) but overall I'm really happy with how this came out. 4
espo Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Great looking little hauler. Nice color and clean body trim. Great detailing on the engine.
'70 Grande Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Outstanding little build! Your paintwork and engine detailing looks excellent! It looks to me like those tires would easily fit on my dinner plate next to my mashed potatoes and not even hang over the plate's edges!?
Bugatti Fan Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Nice little mildly customised pickup with the Minilites and the chrome grille. I worked for a company back in the 70's and got to drive their Mini Pickup quite a bit. It was a bog standard grey vehicle and very basic. No interior door panels but just a large pocket on each door. The windows were designed with a slidng motion to open and close and a hanging cord across the door to pull open the door catch. Could not be more basic! Restored versions now are very valuable simply due to their scarcity, and a number that have survived have been mildly customised in a similar fashion to Chuck's excellent model.
