charlie8575 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 On the new episode of Chicago Fire this week, the focus was on an AMT pumper being built in correct CFD livery for a chief's dying father, and things go awry when the deck gun is found missing in the box, leading to all kinds of silly things to get one, including trading truck equipment with a fire equipment collector for one. In the end, the "dying father" was a ruse, and the Chief gave the truck (which was honestly very nicely done) to his young daughter who immediately started tossing it in the air, and you can guess the rest. Despite the end of the model, it was entertaining, and it's nice to see AMT getting a little free advertising, considering the package was a bit contrived (I think all their trucks were based on Troy, Michigan prototypes). Watch for it on re-runs, or see if you can catch this past week's episode on some streaming service. Charlie Larkin
bbowser Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I saw that! Mouch extolling on creating exact replicas was entertaining. A plug for the hobby in prime time can't be bad ?
NOBLNG Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) I saw that also. I agree, it was entertaining and a nice plug for the hobby!? Edited April 1, 2023 by NOBLNG
Can-Con Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Yes, nice to see the hobby taken more seriously instead of as just a setup for a punchline like the episode they did on 2 and 1/2 Men. 1
Snake45 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 If it's recent, you should be able to watch it for free at NBC.com. I have to say, though, NBC is one of the LEAST pleasurable streaming experiences I have. I have to watch The Voice or America's Got Talent Monday night episode that way, and the quantity and length of the commercials is absolutely maddening, (I have to record Street Outlaws at that time. The other NBC shows I watch--Chicago PD and The Blacklist--I record and watch later with my finger on the FF button.)

I should probably look into getting a DVR setup. Charlie Larkin
