spencer1984 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) For anyone unfamiliar with the Fallout game series, the Highwayman was an amalgam of every 1950s excess in one car, then left out in the apocalypse to cook for a few decades. The bulk of this build combined the body from a SnapFast Slammers "Street Fury" and the roof from an AMT '57 Chevy Bel Air, then used the interior from at least two different Ford Galaxies. Wheels, pipes, grille, etc. were pulled from the parts box and modified. The paint is Tamiya Silver Leaf and Gunmetal, then heavily weathered using Vallejo effects paints, Tamiya weathering effects, and a light mist of Dullcote. As always, any comments/criticisms are welcome! The old game sprites weren't sharp enough to give the car a lot of details, but one that was obvious was the missing trunk lid and cargo full of survival gear. More scratch building and parts box to fill it in with everything I thought was necessary...and if I realize I forgot something, I can just say, "it's in the crate" (which was made from a wooden knife from a local food truck). happy grumpy Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Wow Bill , I just love this. The way you integrated the different parts is awesome. Some serious craftsmanship here.
Danno Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Excellent integration of the Chevy and the Plymo. Neat how well they fit together. I'm surprised we haven't seen someone do this before! Outstanding apocalyptic details, too!
70 Sting Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Um, this is pretty awesome! Great mods and scratch building on display. The car looks like it spent some time in a lagoon. ?
spencer1984 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Thanks, guys! 2 hours ago, 70 Sting said: The car looks like it spent some time in a lagoon. ? I've had a couple of bad applications of Silver Leaf on previous models, so of course this was the smoothest it had ever went on for me. I hated doing the weathering on that finish, but I kept telling myself that I went into this project knowing it was going to have to happen. 2
David G. Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Totally nailed it! Absolutely Amazing! ? David G.

Awesome build,Spencer...The detail is fantastic...
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 It's really disgusting. LOL. Which is meant as a compliment, to all the great detail and creativity. Great Modeling.
iBorg Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 This is so nifty!!!! The merging of the roof looks like it was molded that way. The weathering is very nicely done.
ea0863 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Bill, I love this build! Your "weathering" is superb...it looks like a car after ten winters in Rochester!
stavanzer Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Awesome Build! Roadwarrior meets the 1950's. I love it! Great Trunk Detail, too.
Koellefornia Kid Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Really cool! Great weathering, nice details and well combined parts!
