Built a lot of AMT 3-in-1 kits when I was a youngster, in the 60s. Always customized. Used to buy old Rod & Custom and Car Craft magazines for a nickel apiece from an old newsstand guy and drool over the pics.

Loved the 3-in-1 kits because there were extra parts that could be used on future builds. One of my models was on the cover of Model Car Science, and pics of another one were in MCS or Car Model Magazine--can't remember which. But then I got old enough for real cars, and at the same time discovered girls. Priorities shifted.

Was thinking of challenging my son to a model car build. He's into dioramas and models and such, and has the sweetest '50 Chevy pickup in his garage. Discovered this site when I was trying to figure out how replicate tuck 'n' roll upholstery in 1/25 scale. Have already spent more than I should on an AMT '50 Chevy pickup and a few donor kits.

Glad I found this site--this is gonna be fun!

Howdy and welcome to the site neighbor. There's a few others here from the Bay State as well that I'm aware of.
