How wide? Jason, I think your idea of 7.2 and 9.5 is right on the money. Please see attached photos. I took two of your early prototype front wheels and popped them in some rubber Michelin tires. They'll look even better with your new two-piece design with wider, deeper rear wheels. The bigger rear tires are from a Revell Ferrari 365 Boxer kit. The smaller fronts are from the new Revell Jaguar XKE. They're posed in comparison to FIA wheels and tires from Historic Racing Miniatures.

Thanks for the information and your feedback Tim! ?

Maybe I should create a topic on the forum, specifically for requests, I don't know if I'm allowed to do that.

I think that is a very good idea Jason. There are already some topics like that where members request certain 3D parts to be made by certain individuals who produce 3D parts.

This way we all can publicly recommend or request certain items we would like to see produced.

I'd buy at least two sets, but only if the knockoffs were separate parts like the HRM version.

Might be nice to have the actual OD specified too, or sell 'em with period-correct rubber.

Some 3D guys seem to want to print wheels as assembled units, hubcaps, spinners, knockoffs, etc...all as one piece. Makes it the devil's own level of difficulty trying to finish them realistically.

Yes but printing all those small parts is very difficult to make proper clearances to get parts to fit together and also post processing shipping inventory... The list goes on why doing it separately is not as easy as just doing one offs like that.

I have these wheels and I used to sell them like a year or so ago. I can bring them back probably in 15x8 and 15x10 and you could use my BFG T/A tires with them at that size or 15x8 and 15x12 and then my other classic tires would work

Hi Hellmut,

Someone had asked for these wheels some time ago, I had completely forgotten...

I should be able to take care of it, could you send me more info on the dimmention and some pictures?

Jason, I have gone through my Ferrari books and did not find anything that could help you - but here is a link to the Borrani website feauturing wheels and tires front and rear for Ferrari 250 GTOs - maybe this will provide the necessary information:

This is perfect! I should be able to manage with this, thank you.

I've started working on it but I've been sick for a few days, so it's a bit slow going. Hopefully it'll get better soon, I've got a lot of work ahead of me. ?

Wishing you a speedy recovery I'm looking for your upcoming products (just now, thinking about your Citroen SM wheels for converting the Hachette diecast into a Rally du Maroc participant...)

The wheels are finally available! ?

Thanks Tim for this project, I'm particularly proud of this model.

I put the link to the rims page for those who are interested: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/185945614078

Looking forward to working on new projects!

ps: feel free to send me your realizations with the rims.

Thank you again, Jason, for making these a reality! I'll be checking the mailbox for my order soon. Looking at your site this morning, I see "3 available / 13 sold". Off to a good start.....

I'm currently working on it, and will soon be doing the first test prints.

Thanks to you for the order. ?

It will be great to have those Borani wire wheels 3D-printed, and accurately designed.

One thing I like to mention, is that you should consider making them to fit the kit's tires (not the actual 1:1 scaled dimensions), because often model tires are not accurately scaled.  Of course if you will make them available in several diameters (like the Jaguar wire wheels you offer), that would take care of the tire size problem.

Is there an English language version of the website please?

There is no English version for the moment.

The site isn't up to date, so I don't have the time to keep it up to date. I suggest you go to my eBay page, where you'll find many of my creations. And if you don't find what you're looking for, you can contact me. ?

Hi Jason,

I'm glad to hear you are working on the Borani wire wheels. I hope all the pictures I sent a few months ago are providing enough data.

Glad to see you on this forum.

Hi pierre,

I've made good progress on the model, which should be available in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for the photos you sent me, it's always a great help to have as much information as possible on the models. And not always easy to fin d.

Going back to the Cobra FIA wheels, that look fabulous and the timing is great since the HRM are increasingly difficult to obtain.

Just purchased 2 sets this morning. Thanks Jason for supporting our enthusiastic community.

I got two sets of the Cobra wheels via the Ebay store.  Thanks Jack.  Just of fun one of the sets I ordered was in 1/43 scale.

Thanks for your order guys!

Important note if you have ordered:

It has been pointed out to me that the sizes are not necessarily the right ones, depending on the model you have.

Depending on the version and the year; the car has been equipped with different rim sizes. 15, 16 and 17 inches. These sizes will be added to the eBay listing.

If your model is equipped with 16 or 17 inch rims, please contact me on eBay. You must have already received a message from me.

Thanks Again!

Jason

Jason,

My order arrived today, the Cobra wheels are amazing, both 1/24 and 1/43. Your follow up and service is amazing as well. The 1/24 wheels fit the Monogram/ Revell Goodyear racing tires (from their Cobra 427 kit) with a little bit of trimming on the inside. Now if you can only make a set of  racing tires 1/43 version, it would be great.

I'm looking forward to purchasing the Ferrari wheels when available.

Thanks, Bobby G
