If I'm not mistaken, that's an extremely rare model airplane--the Aurora Lockheed XF-90.

Had to google it, but I think you're right. Rounded tips of swept back wings with side by side exhaust had me stumped.

I didn't have to google it. I have the unbuilt kit in the Snakepit. Bought it at a hobby shop in San Antonio in summer of 1972. It was a VERY VERY RARE kit even then, and I could NOT believe it was sitting on the shelf with a $1.00 price tag on it. It's one of my All-Time Great Model scores. B)

Hmmmmm.....This thread is about women named June. I was able to make a very tenuous June connection to Audrey, but on the other two, I got nothin'.....

Seemed pretty self-evident to me, but you know...  ?

I got one that's actually car-related, believe it or not:

Man, now I know what I'm asking Santa to bring me this year.

I haven't seen that body style in a long, long time.

Wow, fantastic shot!

Definitely Aurora XF-90 in Dad's hands.

Looks like Wally's got an F-94C, but not sure of what kit. It looks a little small to be the Revell. Hmmmm....

Not sure yet what Beaver's got going on....

I do recognize ancient Testor and Pactra paint bottles, though--no doubt marked 10c. (I still have a few.)

Good times! :D

Looks to me like the Beav's got a (1/144?) B-52.

I was thinking along those lines, too.

Back in those days, there was an off-brand model company whose stuff I would only see around Christmastime in various odd stores. I do remember one of their deals was a set of four bombers, or something, but I don't remember what they were. But in the first pic of this thread, I thought Beav was holding a small-scale B-29. Very possible that these could be two models from that off-brand set.

I always kinda wondered how the name "Beaver Cleaver" worked as an adolescent.  ;)

Probably didn't have any connotations in those days. That was LONG before CB radio....;)B)
