ToyTund2009 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Hi all fellow modelers. My name is Dave Martin and as indicated I live in New Jersey, despite the out of control corruption in government and insane taxes I'm happy to live in a very nice part of the state, very close to the ocean all that goes with it. Due to career obligations and life in general I was out of the model building hobby for 25-30 years. While cleaning up the area above my garage following my retirement I decided to take the time to organize and catalog the stash of model cars, (70+) I had collected over a number of years. I initially considered posting and selling the models on line but decided to take a shot at building one or two to see if the old interest and more importantly skill was still there to enjoy the hobby after such a long break. I'm happy to say that I'm thrilled to be building again and have stretched by abilities beyond my previous level. My painting ability still needs a bit of work ( mostly bodies) but I'm improving with every new project as I had hoped. I would like to take a minute to thank the members who responded to a couple of my recent posts and to say how great it is to be part of this forum where ideas and information is shared with like minded individuals. PS, I recently attended the NNL east, this was the first time I had ever been to a model show/ swap meet and was really thrilled to see that the interest in our chosen hobby is alive and well and enjoyed attending more than I had anticipated. Looking forward to corresponding with many of you in the future. Dave
