M W Elky Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 I built this with a mix of the most recent amt release, revell’s hemi dart , the wheels are nos johan Fentons , the tunnel ram is from the amt pro street 66 nova, the hood scoop is a comp . Resin, tamyia bright red paint, and slixx decals. For some dumb reason slixx didn’t include the white hood stripe so I had to get a second sheet so that they would match the hood and deck lid . Until next time thanks for looking ?. Mike 8
TooOld Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Sharp looking Duster Michael ! I've always liked this car . I built the original MPC kit as a kid and still have it boxed away somewhere .
dragcarz Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Looks great Michael, your display case must be getting full.
bisc63 Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 One of your nicest builds yet, and there have been many great looking racers from your bench! Doesn't hurt that it's a red Mopar. ? Well done.
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Super Job! Looks like the real deal. Nice work as usual. Thanks for posting.
Mopar2 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Very nice clean,detailed 71 Duster.Of an iconic Mopar Drag car...
Maurice Henderson Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 M W, you are so right about Slixx..I'm currently building my version of the Butch Leal Duster..I've gone through 3 sets of decals from Slixx because they just come apart in water.. I hope to have my build for the forum to see in the next couple of days. Btw, your build turned out really good..I would've never thought to use the tunnel ram from 66 Nova.
Altered Ego Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Another issue I had was notching the white side stripes for the door handles. MW did a much better job than I did. This is a fun build and fairly easy with the 66 Nova tubs and intake. Mine is under Pro Stock fun. It's not as nice as MW's, but it looks good on my shelf.
