drodg Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Here is a picture I took of my 67 and 65 Coronets. Both PP1 paint code and the 65 is all original paint and I believe my 67 is mostly original paint. The paint tones are so different even though they are they same code but a few years apart. I know the B5 blue varies in the years on Chrysler cars also. Thanks 5
JollySipper Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Those are two nice rides! I bet the '67 is a 440 car, being a Rapid Transit car.......
drodg Posted June 28, 2023 Author Posted June 28, 2023 The 65 is a 383 4 barrel and the 67 yes is a 440. Both cars survivors. I have had the 65 for years. Thanks 2
1972coronet Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Nice pair of "W's" ! Now a couple of enquiries : 1. ) Does the '65 have back-up lamps ? 2.) Which plant(s) built them ?
tbill Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Uh, yeah, we are going to need more pics of these, you tease, haha. seriously, more pics……

Which plant(s) built them ? The 65 does have back up lights. I think that was standard on a 500. I will check on the plants. The window sticker on the 67 shows Detroit so I assume Hamtramck? The 65 I will have to look at the build sheet. 1

larman Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Wow! They are both beauties! I always liked the '65 styling and the early RT cars are super sharp too! Nice that the '65 is a big block!
Old Nasty Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 You are right about the B5 blue. I had my '68 Barracuda painted that color last year & for a factory color, there are all kinds of variations. At a car show a couple of weeks ago, I parked next to a '69 Super B in B5 blue & they looked completely different. I guess it depends on who mixes it. 1
1972coronet Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 (edited) B5 blue has a few different shades, depending upon the year(s) of the vehicle(s): - EB5 was used from 1969-1970 ( "E" = 1969 ) - GB5 was used from 1971-1973 ( "G" = 1971 ) - KB5 was used from 1974-1975 ( "K" = 1974 ) - MB5 was used from 1976- c.1980 ( "M" = 1976 ) If a model year's not specified, any of those '-B5' blue shades could be provided/mixed.
