My 1967 and 1965 Coronets

Recommended Posts

Here is a picture I took of my 67 and 65 Coronets.  Both PP1 paint code and the 65 is all original paint and I believe my 67 is mostly original paint.  The paint tones are so different even though they are they same code but a few years apart.  I know the B5 blue varies in the years on Chrysler cars also.   Thanks

Nice pair of "W's" ! Now a couple of enquiries :
1. ) Does the '65 have back-up lamps ?
2.) Which plant(s) built them ?

The 65 does have back up lights.  I think that was standard on a 500.   I will check on the plants.  The window sticker on the 67 shows Detroit so I assume Hamtramck?  The 65 I will have to look at the build sheet.

Definitely standard on the 500 model (WP).

Could be Lynch Road, too ( "1" in the seventh-placement of the V.I.N. )

I'm completely unaware of how the earlier build sheets read (truly, I'm only "hip" to the 1969 - 1979 'sheets and sales codes).

You are right about the B5 blue.  I had my '68 Barracuda painted that color last year & for a factory color, there are all kinds of variations.  At a car show a couple of weeks ago, I parked next to a '69 Super B in B5 blue & they looked completely different.  I guess it depends on who mixes it.

B5 blue has a few different shades, depending upon the year(s) of the vehicle(s):

EB5 was used from 1969-1970 ( "E" = 1969 )

GB5 was used from 1971-1973 ( "G" = 1971 )

KB5 was used from 1974-1975 ( "K" = 1974 )

MB5 was used from 1976- c.1980 ( "M" = 1976 )

If a model year's not specified, any of those '-B5' blue shades could be provided/mixed.
