Just finding this one now. Stellar innovation, Claude. I think this may be my favourite of your builds yet. Simply outstanding.

Thank you Trevor!

Many show goers also seem to have a sweet spot for vintage FC. I certainly do!

Ok Claude, you fit it in a van, I’m trying to fit an Allison in a jeep. Not going very well. But I’m still trying.

Hi Bruce!

keep at it, I'm certain you'll find a way!

Your work just blows my mind!  Awesome is a much abused descriptor but appropriate here!

Hi Andrew!

Thank you for your enthusiasm, much appreciated!

That must've a lot of fun to build - extraordinary in every aspect!

Thank you John! Indeed, it made me smile during construction. Isn't it why we build?

I remember you referring to this build during my review of Hot Rod Magazine, and WOW you never cease to amaze me!

Thank you EMRE! I know you are always on the lookout... So I try harder!

My apologies for butting into your conversation, Ken and Claude. But thought you'd get a kick out of this mid-engine VW bus funny car. Like what was said, "the endless possibilities" of dreaming up creative engineering solutions and building "just realistic enough" fantasy dragsters, race cars, and sportscars got me hooked on modeling early on and kept things interesting. I enjoy the challenge of diving into the parts bin and coming up with enough fodder to build my next somewhat plausible creation. This happened when I put a chopped and sectioned 29-window body, reshaped, and relocated the wheel openings on a truncated top fuel chassis. All the best

Hi Steve!

Your drag bus is very impressive. I can see the details have been well tought of, like the lower side windows for the driver. Great!

Thank you Claude. I would be curious if the eight skylight widows would have to be removed to keep the twin blowers from sucking the air out and turning the body into an empty sausage casing....hummmm?

Those wheels and tires are perfect for your build.  Nice.

Hi Rusty!

They came from MPC's 72 Chevy PU, a "Rides" edition if I remember correctly. The are large diameter, low profile, so a shoe-in for this vehicle...

Hi Steve!

I'm no expert, but I would try removing two glasses, one on each side, amidship, and the rear window, to balance input and output, taking into account the volume of CFM's the engine would suck in... Who knows? LOL

Hi Claude;

You may be right....but until we can fire up those twin blowers we'll never know.

HI!

I was blessed yesterday with the second place trophy in the "competition" class at the Québec model show (about 500 models). A very well organized show.

Thanks to all those who took the time to vote!

to cool to say, somebody should build a real thing, and go set a record. Any car builders out there want a challenge ?

Hi Roy!

Thank you for the comments. To your point: the basic aerodynamics of the VW Van might give pause to many, even if my model tried to "streamline it" as much as possible. Who knows?
