Finished this up yesterday. Nice kit, went together without a problem. I did had a few cosmetic issues though. Despite my best efforts, the hood and deck stripes ended up being " blotchy" any suggestions on how to avoid this in the future would be welcome. I also had problems with the side stripes, couldn't  get them to fit right20230702_120913.thumb.jpg.fc2ca3bf64b2939031abb733e14a76fe.jpg20230702_120832.thumb.jpg.17653e94f9123cd124938573d3750032.jpg20230702_120942.thumb.jpg.430bd9316e6fbe49ae427853da5b8965.jpg20230702_120815.thumb.jpg.e0365ef05a9124e6719d5e9a84263071.jpg20230702_120957.thumb.jpg.ccf3db7a134ff0e7848794c68bd0587d.jpg20230702_121110.thumb.jpg.fe3daccf7cd9a94bd9612f3c126ab69b.jpg20230702_120731.thumb.jpg.bf9810cb738e5714ba0e4be7b7946821.jpg20230702_120927.thumb.jpg.0bc990914d9f97a92a9ca721ed2fafe1.jpg, but they look ok. After appling the center cap decals, they disappeared, so I painted them black. The engine color is probably incorrect. It might be blue. Generally though, it was a fun build and will look fine on the shelf. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Great looking color combination and finish. As for the blotchy hood stripes, the white decals have a hard time covering any darker paint color it seems. Try a second set of decals and see if that helps. Hard to tell in your pictures that there is even a problem.

As an avid fan of Oldsmobiles, if you're building a 442, the motor should be a light metallic blue, and the front fender wells should be red.

But yes, a very nice build indeed!

I know those side body stripes a very tricky to apply and position, you did a great job.

Overall, great box stock build. ?

Thanks for the info. Was the blue block color exclusive to the Cutlass/442 for this year, or was it across the line?

If memory serves me right, the 69-72 442's were the blue motors while the Cutlass, Cutlass Supreme were the gold motors.

I could be wrong, and would be open to corrections. ?
