GoodGuys TV MPC Taxi

This is another ossone from a short lived TV show in 68-69. Bob Denver drove this 24 Lincoln and MPC made this from the 28 Gangbusters Lincoln and changed the interior and adding a bunch of wacky stuff. This kit has a few of those parts missing but I have another kit that's complete I can cast what I need. The decals I have a color copy but I'm going to have to locate a usable set....I hope.. Here's some info on this kit:                             Barris includes: V-8 engine, plated luggage wheels, 'L' shaped interior that with that "Lived In" look, horns, hood opens, hood scoops, hollow (mis-matched) tires, flip down step and boot, grappling hooks for fast stops, clothesbrush windsheild wiper and coffee-pot hour glass meter

Getting a little more done on this TV '28 Lincoln. I have 3 builds going at at once, I have not done anything like 3 builds going on at 1 time in awhile.  The decals are 45 years old and look pretty good but Im not one to chance them crumbling , all I had was acrylic clear so I put 2 mist coats on them, has anyone used acrylic on decals with good results?

When I started building this kit and checking for fit,I had noticed a slight warp in the body. Now that its time to mate the upper body with the fender half, the warp has come into play big time. I tried all the little things we all know to get it level but no good. In the parts donor kits I have I had a Gangbusters '28 Lincoln with a perfect body , all I had to do was remove the separator between the front and back seat and we are back in business.

I bought a mint sealed kit 10 years ago for $20. I have never opened it!!! Thanks for showing your build.......

This kit is from the late 60s and a $20 price tag 10 years ago I think is a steal.

My building took a big slow down whenI got hurt at work, even tho' I retired a few years ago I still take on driving work and moving work until my CDL retires from my pocket in '27 , if I make it. In a fluke accident my glove got caught some metal causing me to drop off the trailer onto the concrete landing on my side in turn breaking 5 ribs on one side, 1 bad gash on the caught finger and deep bruising my knee and collar bone. I've been idle since Aug 29th but a week ago I started back doing what we like, building models. Still a ways to go on this TV showrod. Very little painting to do but there are many chrome and painted parts to be put on plus alot of details. If you can see the seat picture , there are acctually rips in the seatback on the right and exposed springs behind the driver seat. The TV car had mismatched tires but I used what the kit offered. The hood hinges are another story, but Ill let that one rest..😆

Sorry to hear about your injuries. As we retire, we can sometimes forget that we aren't as agile as we once were, and it can take longer to heal. Get well soon.

I'm currently in battle trying to score one of these kits. Yours looks great so far. Thanks for the insight on what to possibly expect when building, if I get lucky to make the purchase.

I hope your recovery went well. Although many times we never heal as we were before our accidents.

Yes it did , all healed up thanks. Best of luck finding a GoodGuys kit with useable decals.
