Gramps46 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 The community has been kind of slow here so I thought I would start a thread on favorite diecasts. My favorite is a 1/24 scale EBBRO Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 of 1973. Everything about this model is above the normal standard. I wish I could get better pictures of the interior and engine bay. Please feel free to add your favorite to this topic. 4
THarrison351 Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Danbury Mint 1951 Hirohata Mercury by Barris Kustoms. For some this is a Holy Grail of diecast. It sort of was for me. My true Holy Grail car would be the 1934 Ford "The California Kid". As to this one, the first time I saw one I thought how remarkable it was they were able to create so many fine details in a production model. From the movable vent windows and spot lights to the tiny frame rollers at the back to prevent the bumper from scraping, it's amazing. One other detail you'll notice if you handle one is the way the doors open. They pull back and hinge, a two step operation. The doors fit incredibly tight. 4
Snake45 Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 At the moment, I'd have say my favorite is the fairly new Jada '67 El Camino. It's not perfect, but among its virtues is the fact that it's a true 1/24. Plus which, it just plain looks BADASS! 2
Rocketman455 Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 My favorite diecast happens to be a matched pair. The De Augustini Captain America Panhead Harley and the " Billy Bike " and they are 1/24 scale. Beautiful they are. 3

My favorite subject though would be hard to tell - I have several that I like very much.

1959scudetto Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Seems that almost all of your diecasts are your favorites... :-)
Mittagskind Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 It's like eating. The bigger the selection on the table, the harder it is to make a decision.??

1959scudetto Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 (edited) A really hard choice - during the last 15 years I have been collecting around 250 diecast models - most of them in 1/24 scale: among these are a lot that I like very much. When I would have to pick out the singular model which I have been most eagerly awaiting, then it must be the Lancia Fulvia 1,6 HF (winner of the Rally Monte Carlo 1972) from the Hachette WRC collection (for me the highlight of the series: every small detail is correct): My sentimental favorite (mainly for nostalgic reasons) is the Lesney Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta # 75 which I had as a boy from 1966 onwards. During a move in 1968 it got lost, but 30 years ago I was able to buy a near mint exemple with slightly worn box (maybe this one is the reason why the 250 GT/L has been my favorite Ferrari ever since): Edited August 30, 2023 by 1959scudetto 4
Geno Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) I love all the ones I have, otherwise i wouldn't have bought them LOL. But my all time favorite is this one. The real car and the model. Edited November 10, 2023 by Geno 1

spencer1984 Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Lots of favorites, depending on my mood...CadZZilla, Magnabeetle, Dream Truck, Tucker Torpedo, Mach 5, Coors Bandit, Batmobiles, or any of the cars from Talladega Nights would count. But this one was one of the first "fancy" diecasts I ever got, and since I'm a fan of both the design and movie, it holds a sentimental place: I also have to give a shout out to probably the most expensive single car I've ever bought, if only because I'm almost mad that the quality actually justified the price:
webestang Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 One of my all time favs is a VW Matchbox I carried in my pocket through grade school............... Supposed to look like this..............LOL 1
