Gramps46 Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 Made a little more progress. I am now using vinyl film for the white number circles after disasters with old decal circles and decal paper. 1
Pierre Rivard Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 That's interesting, I've had similar issues twice. Does the vinyl just comes as a sheet and you cut circles in. Curious to learn more about this.

I use a circle template to draw on the paper backing, cut it out, then peal the vinyl off and apply to the model. It is pretty strong and will stretch to compound curves if needed. You can find it with either a gloss or matte finish on Amazon. 1
1959scudetto Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 Always interesting to follow your WIP's Gary - the GT40 roadster is a missing link in the plastic kit history which we will never see as a kit (not even a Fujimi curbside - sigh!)
Gramps46 Posted March 25, 2024 Author Posted March 25, 2024 (edited) Today's mock-up. Windshield not attached yet. There is a bit of a glimmer at the end of the tunnel. Edited March 27, 2024 by Gramps46 6
Randy D Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 The mock up looks great Gary. Going to be a beauty in the display case!!! Randy
Gramps46 Posted July 21 Author Posted July 21 (edited) Back on the bench again and plan to finish up the GT40 spyder this week. This will be the last addition to my GT40 collection. O Oops, better fix the toe in. Edited July 21 by Gramps46 3
Rich Chernosky Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Aaahh. Back to the bench with this one. Lookin real good Gary. Might just be inspiration to dig mine out. Re-reading this post brought some memories. I sure am glad that move is now, way in the past.
Bainford Posted Thursday at 02:53 AM Posted Thursday at 02:53 AM Looking good, Gary. Glad to see this one back on the bench.
Gramps46 Posted Friday at 12:37 AM Author Posted Friday at 12:37 AM Well fewer parts left to attach. The challenge will be attaching the body then adding the window surround. 1
Gramps46 Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago I really like what you had done on your spyder.
Gramps46 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Body is on chassis and will go to Under Glass next.
Mark W Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Looks really good Gary, good move on the body sills. Gives it a much better appearance.
