Can-Con Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 The blown Volare is almost done so I started to restore this '67 Riviera annual while waiting for paint and glue to dry. I'm going to keep it stock, after all, you don't come across a '67 annual everyday. This particular kit seems to be kinda hard to find so,, Plans are for dark teal blue paint and a set of re-chromes Buick rally wheels on thin whitewalls. I will use some MCG photoetch scripts on the fenders though. There was a bit of damage to repair where the custom "vinyl 1/2 top" was attached but other then that it seems pretty good. 2
atomicholiday Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Cool project that's definitely worth saving. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Can-Con Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 After getting the color on I discovered a few more areas that needed attention. 1
Can-Con Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 Finally got the color and clearcoat on over the weekend. 5
ea0863 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I'm digging it. Cannot wait to see it with the rest of the bling! 1
Can-Con Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 A couple pics with the paint polished out and mocked up with wheels and tires. The Buick wheels are from a '68 Riviera kit. They're some of the most accurate representations of this wheel. The red lines were just to see how they'd look with the color. I only have the two right now but I think I have a few more. Just a matter of finding them. LOL The interior parts were sprayed black when I got the car but doubt they'll stay black. 3
Yeah Nah Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Great work so far. Looking forward to seeing it in all it's stock glory! 1
slusher Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Beautiful paint! Those red lines sure look good with the color and wheels! 2
customline Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Great job resurrecting this old annual, Steve. I wonder if AMT did an annual of the '70. 1

No, they stopped at '69. A '70 kit would need a whole new body as the sheetmetal is completely different from the doors back from a '66-'69 as well as the back window.

Thanks, Steve. 1
Can-Con Posted January 8, 2024 Author Posted January 8, 2024 Waiting for parts to dry on the pickup today so I finished up the foil on this one. Also, found my stash of red line tires yesterday so it's moving along a bit. 2
Can-Con Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 Finished up the interior today. Kept it simple , just paint and a little black flocking.
