kenlwest Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Here is the finished 1910 Sears Motor Buggy. In scale, the model is a little delicate and flimsy, so I pinned the wheels to an MDF base. The jackstands are not really necessary, but over time, sag could be an issue, so this is an insurance policy. In fact, many brass era cars in museums use jackstands to take pressure off the tires, and keep the car level. Weak springs are common. The model is not perfect by a long shot, but at 1/8 scale it looks good enough for me and the shelf. I hope you enjoyed the build in the WIP section. Thanks for watching! 7

Justin Porter Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 This was so much fun to see coming together and the results really are something unique. It's really a model you should be proud of, using the cutting edge of techniques to represent the very beginnings of the motorcar.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Wow, looks like the real thing.
karbuildr Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Beautiful build and not something seen very often. It does look like it's in a museum.
Yeah Nah Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Amazing delicate work. True modelling art. I'm guessing Sears never offered air conditioning and turbo options.....
Jim B Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 That's awesome, and now Sears is almost no more.
Kenmojr Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Fantastic model and worthy of a museum exhibit. Incredible work. Sears is now K-mart, in future will it be referred to as the K-Mart Kar? LOL
Roadrunner Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Totally awesome. What an excellent looking model.
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Beautiful work. Very realistic. Great effort and detail.

Mittagskind Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Looks very nice. When car driving even was an adventure.
