Thank you, Pierre and Helmut, for stopping by and lending some encouraging words about the build. Luckily Pierre I won't need a paint booth because I am a member of the Brush Painters Society. We don't need no stinking paint booths. I hope you caught the reference to the quote from the movie "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre".  I probably use that one way too much. The item in that movie that they didn't need was badges.

Got the drive shaft and the rest of the front shocks done. also made some travel limiting chains for the truck arms. Reposted the item check list. It's the way I like to see it, all checked off. Now on to the priming of all those little things I made.

Aah, a good check list. You only need that when scratch building or extensive modifications. I miss that already. Doing a OOB build and bored to death...

Love your dedication to this chassis my friend. It's great.

Thank you, Pierre.

I started pulling the parts our of various zip lock bags and actually found out that I had made more parts than I knew about, so I had to add that to a list of parts that need to be cleaned and primed and then painted. Hopefully cleaning and priming will start tomorrow. Are you doing a wip on your oob? I've been looking for activity from you but have not detected any unless you're in a whole different forum then you have been in lately. Please share a link if you have a wip on your oob.

Had to make something that would look like a disc brake. just need to make some calipers for them to finish the illusion.

Started on the second of 4 calipers. Just need to make 4 that look basically the same and fit.

Well done,Mark - looks like the real thing in the photo above.

Need to start over on the calipers and make all 4 together this time and make them fit as well as they can, not worrying that they look too much like the real calipers. Just  need something that looks like  calipers

Thanks, Anton. Trial and error is the same old process I go through every time to finally end up with something that will work. Someday I want to build a 3d printed kit so I can see what it's like to cut away all the strings that holds everything together  and then build it.  Like the Lancia Stratos that MM is building. Something like that in a Ferrari.

Got the calipers finished. When you're working with parts this small, it's hard to get all 4 to look identical. When installed you can't really see them that well anyway, so it doesn't really matter. As long as there is something there to represent a caliper. I will put the best two on the rear axle because you can see them better than the front ones.

WOW Mark!!!  This is a bumper to bumper scratch build project, you are very resourceful and skillful, I love what I see here, sorry to be so late to the party!  I realize I missed several great builds and yours is one of them.  You can be proud of your work, it's impressive. 👍

Thanks, Pierre, Francis and Ken. Appreciate the kind words about the build. I'm finally to the primer section of the build.

Finally have some good weather today so I will prime the chassis mother ship and all the pieces that need to be individually painted and then install them to the chassis. Then I can finish the chassis completely, including sanding the treads off the tires. Then I just need to repaint the body, decal the body, put the finish up coat of future or whatever they call it nowadays and this baby will finally be finished. Hallelujah, brothers and sisters.

Finally got some stuff painted. Will have some major touch ups to do after I get the parts installed. This always happens. It's just part of the process when you have to paint after you make an assembly like the rear axle assembly.

So the bl plastic is kit - and the rest is - not - correct ??

You will have to help an old man, Andrew. I've been trying to figure out what bl plastic is but have no clue. But basically, the little stuff on the plates is not from the kit including all of the rear axle assembly and the front suspension. the engine is basically kit, but the valve covers and intake manifold and carb and air cleaner are not. the wheels and tires are ppp products, but the wheels have been highly modified. The body is kit, but the front and rear have been changed a lot. The rest of the chassis has had a lot of styrene square rods added to it and the gas tank is not kit. The roll cage is not kit either. I might have missed some stuff that is not kit. But thank you so much for stopping by and inquiring about the build. it is highly gratifying that a master modeler would be interested in my little old build.
