Trendsetta68 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Just wondering how do you transport your big rigs to and from. Wether it's to a show or to a meeting, just curious. Thanks and GOD Bless. ???
espo Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I have seen a few builders use oblong cardboard boxes like you would find at a Costco or supermarket, maybe even a Hobby Lobby when they recieve inventory.
stitchdup Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 fruit/vegetable boxes from the supermarket. big enough for most trailers and just needs a little packing around them. each box will hold 2 trucks and trailers and they are stackable and strong
tbill Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 When I finish a big rig build, it goes in its own display case, as such, it’s also what I transport them in. Once they go to all the local shows, I’ll usually put them in my larger floor display cases, although those are almost full now. 1
Bills72sj Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Use a flat box lined with some heavy felt material. It is thick enough they won't roll but thin enough to not snag the mud flaps. The tricky part is keeping the side mirrors from getting bumped.
GLMFAA1 Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 I use produce boxes from grocery stores that are used for like grapes, small fruits that have handles on the ends, a layer of large bubble wrap on the bottom keeps the trucks in place and are long enough. greg

How do you get these boxes? Most of our local grocery stores keep them and send them back to the produce company.
