Dave Van Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 My buddy in So Cal and I had a little contest to build a box art model. I picked the retooled AMT 1966 Mustang fastback. Box stock, Tamiya Bright Red can. I did change out the rear tires to AMT MH slicks. I also did change out the driver name decal to that of my friend Bill.....decal is in the kit!!! I found the kit body had a rough texture that took a lot of work to get decent. Decals are get but cut stripes to size BEFORE you apply as hey are nice and white but brittle......and I used 2 sets. Thanks 11
Zippi Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Good looking 66 Mustang. Nice touch changing out the driver name to your friends name.
espo Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Great looking build. They should use a picture of your model for the box art.
karbuildr Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Hot dang. Great build, red with white stripes looks killer on this car.
doorsovdoon Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Box art builds look so cool. Very nice job. I don't think I've ever built a box art version of anything cos the temptation to do your own thing is quite strong! lol

Thanks Dave...this is a great looking model that really does a fine job showing the potentials for this new Round 2 AMT kit. Cool!!!! TB 1
