Finished this build today. Monogram 79 Pontiac Firebird Street Machine. One of Ollie’s kits. Didn’t even try the decals because 1. I didn’t know if the color would be right. And 2. I’d ruin them trying to get them on LOL.

Carl inspired me to try the decals. Soap did help and I think it looks a bit better. Thank you Carl.

Very nice! Silver does look great for that one. I just picked this one up myself. That's the only version you can build with that kit, right? No way to build a stock Firebird?

With the boxy fender flares and side pipes, I assume that is the old Revell tooling...I built one as a kid that built stockish looking as far as the hood and rear spoiler, but with the flares and side pipes.

This is the one I built:

Thank you Jeff. They do give you these extra parts but no stock hood.

Thank you Rob. I bet it’s the same kit as it does include these extra items but no other hood.

Yep.  They had a few different versions back then but none were 100% stock.

Lots of sparkle in the paint but nice and smooth looking. Like the different look without the rear spoiler.

Thank you David. I thought the spoiler was a little too much. The side pipes were the worse. I was just going to leave them off.

Just want to put this out there for those not familiar with the kit.

This was the original version of the kit from about '79 or '80. Wasn't exactly a stellar kit back then either.

,, and, yes, that was a real car Barris built.

This looks much cooler than the box art car.   Very cool.?.   Nice job my friend.

Hmm.  Maybe I’ll do some custom graphics of my own when I get around to this one.  “Linn Fever”!??

Very nice David. I was aware of this kit but I don't ever recall seeing a completed model (aside from the box art of course). Definitely has an aggressive look.

Looks great David!   If you decide to use the decals put a drop of. Soap in the water it helps them slide..

Thank you Carl. I'll give it a try. ?
