Mike 1017 Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 Has anyone with a 3d printer tried making emblems? Such as SS, Chevelle, Skylark, Mustang or Challenger? Mike
chryslerjunkandstuff Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Someone ought to make like a whole a$$ sheet of emblems covering all the 50s thru 70s cars! I for one, HATE having to do pic related to make my cars complete : Made for my '58 Chrysler Saratoga.. Did the '57 Saratoga as well, was even more intricate.. Made for one of my '56 Plymouth Belvederes.. Made a Powerflite emblem for my other '56.. Made a Highway Hi-Fi emblem for the Highway Hi-Fi record player unit that I made for my '57 and '58 DeSoto Adventurers.. Am doing these presently for my '58 Chrysler Windsor Dartline.. Just finished the quarter panel emblems up today, as well as the wheel cover insert emblem for my '56 El Morocco Brougham convertible.. I can tell you that 100% fore shore, THIS is not fun to do! 2

How did you make them? I agree it would be great if someone could make a sheet of emblems. Mike

my66s55 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 You asked about 3d printing them. I draw the emblems up in Blender and if needed, i can print them out individually. The custom Royal name and tail fin emblem on my 57 Dodge and the three emblems on my 69 Buick Grand Sport were all done by me.

Man, I'd love to get a 3D printed sheet of all of the Forward Look era MoPar emblems you've got! 1
hedotwo Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I have to agree that I too would be very interested in buying sheets of 50's through 70's scripting and emblems. I've been getting into printed models more and more and have always wondered why these details aren't added when printed. I just figured it may have something to do with licensing. Maybe the files don't include them and some sellers don't know how, or take the time to add them. I only build factory stock and these details are really important to me. I even considered decals, worst case (gulp!!) 1
Beans Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Not sure how they "print" it but, however they make these seatbelts would be great with a sheet of emblems. That is as long as they could be made chrome enough. I've used the belts a couple of times and they turn out great.
lordairgtar Posted April 5 Posted April 5 If you would use decals, STS will custom make decals for you. I needed FARGO emblems for my 69 Dodge truck roll back. I sent him pictures of the needed emblems and script and he matched them perfectly in chrome.

Amazing!!!...I very much doubt that I could have the patience or dexterity to even attempt that. Well done, must be very satisfying

I acquired a PE tree for the ‘58 Edsel that included scripts for a wagon version as I have a resin Edsel wagon trans kit. I have yet to begin that project and I have no experience working with PE parts so I can’t say this would be a good solution. The resin and 3d may offer a little more realistic detail than just a flat metal piece.
