I picked up 3 years of Scale Auto Modeller 1998-2001 for £16 from eBay a few months back. Given how many kits I have that were “new” in those years, or at least recent, it’s a real treasure trove of guidance and inspiration… as is the Bruichladdach, of course… best, M. They are correct about how to do something more often than the internet. To say that the internet, and social media in particular, is as accurate as a two dollar watch would be a gross insult to the low priced timepiece industry. 1

That anyone can post to the internet is simultaneously the best and the worst thing about it, as people either through ignorance or outright malice seem determined to bury us in baloney. Absolutely. Tons of really useful historical data has just gone away over the last two decades. And with Google's continuing policy to either steer you to something to BUY so they get their little referral cut, or to put their spin on any results (rather than just displaying RELEVANT but NEUTRAL results to any query) the usefulness of it and any search engine based on it (which is most of 'em) deteriorates daily. 1
Bugatti Fan Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 At least the targeted ads in paper magazines don't keep popping up in front of what you are trying to read ! 1

Richard Bartrop Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 It does turn out that even Facebook isn't a complete waste of time. Rik Hoving has been posting colour photos from the 1948 LA Roadster Show, and the first Oakland National Roadster Show. https://www.facebook.com/Rik.Hoving.Kustoms

A civilization that's entirely dependent on relatively vulnerable technology is just a few pull-the-plug events away from being no civilization at all.
