1971 Olds 442

Recommended Posts

had a nice day so I went ahead and started by painting the body. it was done using testors gold and dark red enamels. it's going to have white stripes and interior. c&c are welcome as usual and thanks for looking. btw I've noticed some great builds of this kit on here!

I started the body decals this morning. they all seemed to lay down nice. I haven't decided on the wheels yet, for my taste the styled steel wheels are a bit circus wagoned. I might use magnum 500 wheels instead.

I made up a set of magnum wheels from the 68 charger kit for comparison purposes. for my taste I think they look better with this particular color. I also have the engine coming along pics of it later. thank you all for your input.

Great work on red/gold over coat, that isn’t an easy task.

The engine is also looking very good, fantastic progress so far.

thanks Steve, painting can be tricky at times!

In the Oldsmobile world, those Magnum wheels would be SS1 (Super Sport 1) wheels.  Correct for the car and definitely a sportier look 🙂

thank you Clay for the kind words and information. the wheels fit my taste better than the styled wheels.
