fiatboy
Does such a thing exist? I am building a funeral car, hearse, from the Wagon Rod.
Matt Bacon
Well, white LEDs and transparent blue and red paint from Tamiya all exist, so if an actual purple LED doesn’t, it shouldn’t be too hard to fake it… best, M.
Mothersworry
Yes,...purple LEDs exist. I believe they are commonly used as grow type lights as they are ultraviolet kinda like a blacklight.
peteski
Yes, while not popular, they do exist. Just like White LEDs are actually blue LED die with a phosphor coating which converts most of the blue light to other colors (resulting in apparent white light), purple (or pink) LEDs are also blue LEDs with another type pf phosphor coating, resulting in purple/pinkish) light. I scored some of the small surface mount (SMD) LEDs from a surplus outfit called Electronic Goldmine. They are not the same as grow light LEDs. Here is a link to them: https://theelectronicgoldmine.com/products/g25733?_pos=4&_sid=880bae79b&_ss=r Unfortunately they recently made the minimum order $35, but if you browse theough the site you might find enough items to satisfy that. You could also search for purple LED on eBay or amazon.
Leo64
I don't know if you had any luck finding any purple LEDs, but on a recent video by Doug Whyte on his Model Car Muse Youtube channel, he used some LEDs on a project and they were from a company called Evan Designs: https://evandesigns.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMLFp4kYZxADKsLDwv9OGSbQ52KOg_HETefwKnPRo9XNXXtp_mmUv0hoCmeIQAvD_BwE Looking on their website they show several of the different size LEDs available in purple. Just thought I would pass the info on in case you were still looking. Steve A.
Michael jones
I only buy white LED's and paint them whatever colour I want. Works well, and no need for resistors or anything when connected in parallel.

Steve H
I have ordered from Evan’s Designs twice. I highly recommend them, great products, excellent service, and fast shipping. Their website is easy to navigate and if you aren’t sure about something, you can ask and they will point you in the right direction.
