TooOld Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Another "Deal's Wheels Never Was" . . . this one inspire by Dave Deal's original artwork , I finished it a couple of months ago after it sat unfinished for six year's . It's based on a Monogram shortened body/frame and has fabricated headers/engine , front and rear suspension , and wheels . Other bits and pieces are from the Monogram kit and my parts box . The biggest hurdle was coming up with a driver and is one of the reasons it got shelved many years ago . I finally settled on modifying a Deal's Wheels head and creating the body using Apoxie Sculpt . Paint is Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red and TS-13 Clear . A fun and very long build . I hope you like it ! Here's the Dave Deal artwork that inspired it . . . More pics . . . 8

alan barton Posted May 29 Posted May 29 What a brilliant idea! I've got to try that for myself - so cool! Cheers Alan
Dragline Posted May 29 Posted May 29 How The? Never mind. You pull this stuff off with casual aplomb Bob. No more words. You realize a kit could be made of this right? It would sell too!

You realize a kit could be made of this right? It would sell too! Thanks very much Bob ! Not so casual with this one . . . it was in and out of the box half a dozen times over 6 or 7 years . I'd try doing a little bit , give up , and put it back in the box . And yes it would have sold very well ! Dave Deal had several kits drawn and submitted that were never produced .
Dragline Posted Friday at 11:13 AM Posted Friday at 11:13 AM I know the feeling of putting a build back into the box several times over the course of years. Glad you persevered.
TonyK Posted Friday at 12:26 PM Posted Friday at 12:26 PM A fun and great looking creation! Glad you kept it going to the finish so that we can enjoy it. Nice work!
