Trevor,  Thanks buddy!!

Jeff, you are too kind my friend!

Steve, appreciate the comment!

Gary, thank you and glad you are following along.

Brian S.  thanks, it is a little different subject for me😁

Brian K.  ,  Thank you Sir.  I don't think those little minions are too worried.  I have not managed to post a completed build with all the painting done in all the years I've been on this forum😂

Some progress on the cab for my Peterbilt....

Using some reference from you tube videos of folks rebuilding old Petes to come up with the cab floor frame work.  Peterbilt used channel pieces bent to shape and stacked....

In the last pic I arrowed a spot that shows how they removed some material from the channel in order to bend it...

I will do the same using brass stock that I first anneal the beat and end to shape..

Wow!  Do you see making the cab and hood out of brass like your rat rod tow truck?  Really like the brass work you incorporate in most of your builds.

WOW!!! Randy, your attention to detail is bordering on insane! And you have the skills of a watchmaker.😎 Two thumbs up from me for your efforts.👍👍

Randy, the brass framework is outstanding, but I have a question. I have only used brass in a few simple applications, how do you cut/ bend the brass and second: what tools do you use the solder it together with?

Hi Folks,

Jeff,  Thank you my friend!

Brian, thanks and yes, the cab/hood will be formed from copper sheet stock.

Appreciate that Greg!

Glad you are liking this Victor.

Thanks Steve,   Yeah, heatin' and beatin' metal like it's been done for a loooong time😁

Thank you Dennis!

Gary,  I pretty much use the same tools as most modelers.  Needle files, jeweler saw, good pair of scissors, all sorts of small pliers.  For soldering I just use a basic Weller iron with adjustable heat and a small torch.  Lots of different solders with varying melting points.

Update....

Building up the cab interior. Using nickel silver sheet stock for the floor...

The older farm sprayer trucks like I am modeling often used in cab hydraulic manifolds  with manual control levers.  Lots of toggle switches and gauges and monitors. Here are some assorted ref. pics....

The valving system you've created looks like my floor's hot water in-floor heater manifold!  So very intricate - can't wait until you get to your sprayer bars!  Well done.

Well, I just woke up or I'm way late... I never would have imagined finding you in this category Randy but you have to understand that genius has no boundaries!  There are no words or superlatives to adequately comment on what we are witnessing here.  You have the gift of putting our feet back on the ground and putting into perspective what we do on our own projects and there is nothing negative in what I say.  The only downside is that I could spend all day looking at the wonders you do and not have time to work on my own project.  I'm going to shake myself up and use the lesson in humility you give us to try to increase the quality of the details of what I do.  I could add more but I won't add more for the moment except to say that the undisputed master shows us what humans can create, assuming that you are!  Breathtaking!!! 👌🎩

Okay Randy, I have you figured out. You have invented a shrink ray machine and these are actually real parts shrunk down to look like model parts. So, how much for this technology. Come on talk!!!!

Really, HOLLY you know what! This is freakin amazing. Super quality work. I'm still recovering from the shock.😱
