STU111 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Hi, when l started this l knew it had to be plum crazy, it’s a pretty iconic Mopar colour. Unfortunately, Tamiya, which is the most common readily available brand here in Australia don’t have a metallic purple shade close. Not to be deterred, l sprayed the body TS-24 purple then applied 2 coats of TS-65 pearl clear, applied the decals, then slowly sprayed 4 coats of TS-13. It’s “almost” that iconic shade. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stu. 11
stavanzer Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Great Looking Build. I think the Colour is close enough. You did well with what you had. Good Show.
Musclecarbuilder Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Looks awesome! It kinda looks like the 70' I built almost a year ago. 2
XYHARRY Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Stu, you nailed it. I used the same Tamiya base colour on my 71 'Cuda but it looked too dark. Well done. Cheers, David. ????
ncbuckeye67 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 That looks fine to me. Your paint finish is gorgeous!
Rattlecan Dan Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Looks pretty darn close to Plum Crazy to me! Nice build.
STU111 Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Thank you everyone for the kind comments on the build. This model represents what I would have driven out in if l walked into a Dodge dealership with a wad of cash in 1970. Gotta love those “Hi Impact” Mopar colours. Cheers, Stu.
